About our tea room

Our tea room is not just an ordinary tatami room. It is a prestigious tea room constructed by a Kyoto craftsman. It is based on a tea room that is said to be designed by Sen No Rikyu, and since then has been inherited by successive headmasters.

The name of this room 不審庵 (Fu-shin-an)  is from Buddism Zen words, used to describe the heart that is moved by the wonder and greatness of nature that surpasses human understanding.

Please step by and enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of our tea room.

Our vision

Our vision is to spread the Japanese culture to people from abroad.

Our tea ceremony classes are hosted by practitioners of tea.

Please feel free to ask our teachers about anything you want to learn.

Also,  take pictures of our tea room or ask our staff to take photos of yourselves.

The tea ceremony

Tea ceremony is one of Japan’s cultural traditions.

It is a practice that uses Matcha tea as a way to promote a positive interaction between the host and the guests.

With many steps, utensils and concepts, the Japanese tea ceremony is fascinating and enjoyable but also an educational experience.

Each procedure and action in the tea ceremony has its own meaning, and once you understand it, you will be able to enjoy Japanese tea more deeply.

Our tea master will demonstrate the process of the ceremony, while explaining the significance behind each steps and tools.
